Cool Number Dates – 4/20/14-4/26/14

Easter Sunday is cooler than any cool number day.

Even so, Today, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday all have even digits – divisible by 2.  The numbers in the dates all include 4 for the month and 14 for the year.  The days are 20, 22, 24, and 26.

And the half-back day for the month is Thursday, 4/24/14.  Go up 20 from 4 to 24.  Then come half way back (10) from 24 to 14.

Palindrome Week!

Today is tax day, but more importantly, my friend Greg pointed out that EVERY day this week is a palindrome, a number (or word) that is the same frontwards and backwards:

41314, 41414, 41514, 41614, 41714, 41814, 41914

I have two conclusions out of this finding.  First, I am regularly amazed at how blind I am to things right in front of me.

And second, there will be a nice palindrome week for at least the next five years:  May 2015; June 2016; July 2017; August 2018; September 2019.

Enjoy the week!

Cool Number Dates – 4/6/14-4/12/14

This week is bursting with cool number dates.

There are four(!) multiple-of-two days: Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (4/6/14, 4/8/14, 4/10/14, and 4/12/14).

Wednesday, 4/9/14 is a Sequence (of 5) day.

Thursday is an Addition Day, since 4 + 10 = 14

And, Friday is another palindrome: 4/11/14

Cool Number Dates – 2/23/14-3/1/14

This week we have the last three days in February which are multiples of two:  2/24, 2/26, and 2/28.  See how there were four each in the first and third weeks, and three each in the second and fourth weeks?  That’s because weeks have seven days.

2/26/14 is February’s half-back day:  Go up 24 from 2 to 26, then return back 12 to 14.

And 28 / 2 = 14, so 2/28/14 is a Reverse Division Day
