Today, 5/10/15,  sports three cool facts all by itself!    5 + 10 = 15 so we have an Addition day.  All three numbers are multiples of five.  And, there is a sequence of five: 5, 10, 15.

Friday 5/15/15 is another case of Multiples of five.

Best of all this week, there are TWO palindromes.  5/11/15 is 51115, and 5/15/15 is 51515 – both are the same forward and backward.

There are four different kinds of days this week!  Today, 3/5/15, is first as a multiplication day (3 * 5 = 15).

Tomorrow is an especially fun day.  May the fourth be with you. 5/4/15 is Star Wars Day!

Tuesday, 5/5/15, has two labels.  All three of the month, day, and year are multiples of five.  And, El Cinco de Mayo is a national holiday in Mexico.

The last cool date of April (only the third one in the whole month!) is today.  A halfback day – 4/26/15.  Start at 4 and go up 22 to 26 then come half way back to 15.

The first day of May is very cool!  Leave the zero off the front of the month and day and you have 5/1/15.  Leave out the dividing slashes to get 5115 – a Pallindrome!

 

The only cool date this week is today.  4/19/15 is a minus subtract day;

4 – 19 = -15

Still, better than last week.

As mentioned a couple of weeks ago, April is very sparse this year.  But boy-howdy, wait for 2016… think of all the multiples of 2, and every other one is a multiple of 4. And 4/8/16 will be three consecutive powers of 2!

But sorry, nothing this week.

The first of only three cool dates in April this year is way at the end of this week.  4/11/15 is an Addition day.  4 + 11 = 15.

This week has THREE multiples of three:  Today (3/15/15),  Wednesday (3/18/15), and Saturday (3/21/15).  Sounds like a good sermon with all those threes!

Wednesday is also a Minus Subtract day, since 3 – 18 = -15.

Monday and Thursday have “multiple” cool things going on this week.

Monday 3/9/15 and Thursday 3/12/15 are multiples of three.

Monday is also a sequence – 3, 9, 15 are each separated by 6’s.

Thursday is also an addition day – 3 + 12 = 15

And, Saturday is PI day.  PI is an irrational number whose decimal representation goes on forever.  An approximation is 3.14, hence 3/14 as PI day.  A closer approximation is 3.1415, so 3/14/15 is THIS YEAR!
